For the last 8 miles I was standing up on the pegs using my legs as an extension of the suspension as my 2009 BMW R 1200 GS bounced, lurched and powered it’s way up a dirt trail called Parsons Branch. The sign back at the start of this stretch of our journey said “Parsons Branch…a primitive road.†It was definitely “primitiveâ€; the “road†part was very questionable. Suddenly the dirt ran smack into asphalt, the famed “Tail of the Dragon.†You’d think that would spell the end of my motorcycling fun. Actually, it was just the beginning on this dual sport BMW.
